I've never ever seen another! This is definitely ART DECO. Not Bakelite -- Celluloid! Painted geometric and curvy shapes in red, gold, blue, black, and green. The design is embellished with rhinestones, some of which have, not surprisingly, darkened with age. I mean, it is a hundred years old after all and would look really silly with sparkling, brilliant clear rhinestones!

Condition is really so excellent. The caramel color has some marbling effect. The original mirror is present and shows some darkening in a sort of brush-mark way. The lining is present although the elastic gathering on the pocket has loosened with age. My guess is that this rare treasure spent most of its life in its owner's "special things" drawer!

The purse measures 4 7/8" wide and 3" tall and has a cute little handle on it. If you are a serious collector of early 1900s purses this might be meant for you! I've buried it in my own collection for nearly 20 years. Grab it quick before I change my mind!
