Try to find this particular pin on the Internet right now....there are other versions from this line but this one is not out there at all at the moment! It is a rare bird, indeed!
This is signed STERLING and beautifully gold plated. The plating is in excellent condition. It has the MB mark from 1942-44. According to American Costumer Jewelry Art & Industry, 1935-1950, by the Brunialtis, this is from 1945 and is a swan. It is in EXCELLENT condition! It is made more wonderful by the chunky emerald cut stones in PURPLE (arguably the best color in the world in my book!). There are clear rhinestone embellishments on curve of the wings and the top of the head. Graceful and fluid as is so typical of Frenchman Marcel Boucher!
This beauty is LARGE! It measures 3 3/4" by 2 1/4".
This is truly a cherished collector's dream from the Golden Age of American costume jewelry. From my personal stash of treasures!
