Are you into glitz and glam? This incredible rhinestone bib necklace with earrings dates from the 1960's. It is featured in Roseann Ettinger's book "Popular Jewelry of the 1960's, '70's and '80's". The necklace is set with diamante rhinestones and huge peacock blue teardrops. There are smaller matching peacock blue chatons throughout the design. The other rhinestones are diamante stones - originally manufactured to mimic diamonds. All of the rhinestones are prong set - just imagine the labor involved in making this masterpiece. The necklace measures about 21 inches across and can be adjusted using the hook clasp any place along the rhinestone chain. The bib center is 4 1/4 inches top to bottom. The top of the necklace from the beginning of the bib to the end of the bib part is 7 inches across. Earrings are a slightly different design from those pictured in the book and these are more spectacular. They are 2 1/2 inches long and made for pierced ears. The metal is silvertone and all pieces are in excellent condition. There are three small rhinestone along the necklace chain which have darkened slightly. This is consistent with the age and use of the necklace over the past 50+ years. Heads will turn when you enter a room wearing this ensemble. It is appropriate for the most gala occasions. The book values the necklace with the earrings at 4400.00 to $500.00. You will not be disappointed with this jewelry.
