This stunning design by Renoir of California is part of their Matisse line. The Matisse jewelry is copper with the addition of enamel accents. This design is called Chile. It is featured on p. 119 in Burkholz and Kaplan's book on Copper jewelry. The base of each link is a three-sided picture frame. The enamel plaque with its three dimensional copper over-lay is on top of that. In my opinion this is one of their best designs. The necklace is adjustable from about 14" to 17 3/4" and is 7/8" wide. The matching earrings are clips 7/8" top to bottom. There is one small nick on the enamel of one of the earrings and a very minimum of wear to the necklace - almost nothing. The backs of the earrings show some wear but it is not visible when you have them on. Over-all this demi parure is in excellent condition. Copper is always in style and the white enamel is a superb contrast to the copper. This jewelry will go with just about everything.
