Pair Early Pencil Portraits - Man and Woman - Framed - 1790 - 1840
These antique portraits came from a local estate sale where they had only fine antiques. I have no information about them except what you can see in the drawings. I have not removed them from the frames but believe they were done with pencil or very fine chalk. My guess is pencil because I can see deeper outline marks on the bodies when I hold them up to the light. I would date them to somewhere between 1790 to 1840. Frames are 8 1/2" x 7 1/4". The outside edges of the frames are unfinished. Portraits are well done and do have some foxing, consistent with their age. They would be lovely in a home with other similar antiques.
I combine shipping and insurance for multiple orders - domestic and worldwide. Canadian shipping is less than other countries.
