This sterling bracelet is a unique part of American history. It is from Japan and dated 1947. It was brought back by an American serviceman who was stationed in Japan after WWII. Although he gave it to his wife, he did not have her name or initials engraved on it. The center is larger than the other links. Two dragons surround the plaque which can still be engraved to personalize it for yourself. The date 1947 is imprinted in the design. There are three smaller links on each side showing an important part of life in Japan. Bracelet is about 7 1/4" long and 1" wide at the center. It has a secure push-in clasp and weighs about 32 grams. There is a little wear to the very center consistent with its age and use. That can probably be polished out by a jeweler should you decide to add your name or initials. I have not cleaned it so it has old patina. It is marked silver and tests for sterling. Bracelet is in excellent condition.
