This purple extravaganza is one of my favorite designs by the Japanese architect Kunio Matsumoto. He designed a line of jewelry for Trifari in the 1970's. The beads are two shades of purple. The largest of the beads are about 13mm. There are two decorative plaques on this necklace. They are basically the same shape but one is goldtone metal and the other is a thick chunk of Lucite in colors complementary to the necklace beads. The Lucite piece is larger than the goldtone one. They can be placed across from each other when you are wearing it or one can be higher and the other lower. This is a wonderful piece of jewelry with a contemporary look. It measures about 31 1/2 inches long. There is no clasp. It is fully signed on the metal plaque. This awesome piece of vintage jewelry is in excellent condition. Shipping is a little more for this piece as it cannot be folded into a small box.
