This gorgeous piece of Original by Robert jewelry can be worn as a pin or a pendant. The pendant has an elaborate surround set with eight deep blue cabochons which look like they might be lapis. The open work design is a feast for the eyes. The center of the pendant is either art glass or a natural stone. I believe it is art glass. You can wear this as a pin or slip it on a chain and it becomes a pendant necklace. The brooch measures about 2" x 1 7/8" and the chain is 24" long. The back of the pin is marked Original by Robert. There is a small blemish on the stone which is visible only when held at an angle to the light. It is not rough so is possibly a manufacturing flaw. Over-all I would say this is in excellent condition. For a bit of history, Robert Levy worked for Miriam Haskell and then formed his own company. According to Illusion Jewels he was in business from 1942 to 1979.
