This outstanding rhinestone parure was made by Ledo. That was a shortened version of Leading Lady and the mark on the jewelry was used from 1948 to 1962. If you think about the name the Leading Lady was the most important person in movies at that time. This jewelry is high quality and could easily have been worn in a movie at that time. The stones are all original and are bright and sparkling. Large navettes alternate with smaller pave' set rhinestones in the design. The pieces are substantial. Necklace is about 14 1/2 inches long and has a fold-over clasp set with rhinestones. The bracelet is 7 inches long and has the same clasp. The clip earrings measure about 1 1/8 inches top to bottom. Necklace and bracelet are 5/8 inch wide. The jewelry is rhodium plated for long lasting beauty. There is some glue visible around a few of the rhinestone navettes. The photos magnify the stones but in person it is barely noticeable. I believe they were re-set long ago. This is not unusual in jewelry sixty or seventy years old. This jewelry comes in its original box which is not in perfect condition but how many times do we find original boxes? This company was founded by Polcini and eventually renamed Polcini. This jewelry would be appropriate for a wedding, an evening at the opera, a night out at just about any very special place. Or, you could wear it just to wear it and have that "feel good" feeling. Jewelry is in excellent condition and all pieces are signed Ledo. It must be sent by Priority Mail because of the original box. If you don't want the box I can mail it out via first class mail. Please email if you would like a photo of the box.
