Paint Decorated Folk Art Primitive Wood 19th Century Scissor Toy Woman Feeding Chickens
This hand carved, paint decorated scissor toy has a lady feeding 3 hens, 4 chicks and 1 rooster. It opens with a scissor mechanism. It is unsigned, probably a toy from Pennsylvania, but could be a German made toy.
Condition: Old dry untouched finish. As found. There is minor damage to the beak of one of the hens and one leg of the rooster (see photos), not surprising given the age and fragility of the toy.
Approximate Dimensions: The toy extends to 19" long when open and is 2" when closed. It is 5" wide. The height of the lady is 2.75". The hens are approximately 1.25" high and 2.25" long.
