Extremely rare signed alabaster game table and Biedermeier boulle side chair are great additions for your dollhouse library, cozy nook or parlor. The oval game table has a raised gameboard in the center which is painted blue. Glued on top are playing cards. A round alabaster disc is glued next to the gameboard. The base of the table is ornately turned and rests on a beveled edge octagonal base. It is signed, 'Mercier 1856'.
The accompanying Walterhausen side chair has a mauve silk seat with gilt Dresden paper trim. The wooden frame is finished in a rosewood stain.
Made in 3/4" scale, the table measures 1 3/8" t x 3 1/2" w x 2 1/2" d and is in good condition with a repair to the tabletop along one edge of the game board. Five discs are missing. The chair is 2" t x 1 3/8" w x 1 1/4" d and has some minor staining on the seat cushion - otherwise in excellent condition.
