Antique German bisque head doll made by Heinrich Handwerck ca. 1895-1900. The doll stands ca. 15.7" (40 cm) tall. Her bisque head is by Simon & Halbig. The head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "Germany Heinrich Handwerck Simon & Halbig 9".
Big brown glass eyes with original lid paint and fully operational eye mechanism, an open mouth with 4 teeth. She wears an old mohair wig.
Her wood and composition body is in good condition with some repaint in the neck area. Two fingers are restored. The body has some minor areas of age-related wear.
The doll wears antique clothing, a cotton dress, cotton underclothes, a straw hat. A small cute bag made of seashell, leather shoes.
