Rare 23.6" (60 cm) German antique doll by J.D. Kestner ca. 1910, mold number 197. This mold looks similar to mold #195 and #196 but it is more difficult to find.
Bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "Е½ made in Germany 9½ 197". Bisque head with original fur brows inserted through cut out slots. Fur brows are in good condition. Brown glass sleep eyes with fully operational eye mechanism. Open mouth with 4 teeth. An old human hair wig. She had real lashes and they disintegrated. Wood and composition body in good condition with signs of paint restoration.
This lovely doll is wearing an antique silk dress, cotton underclothes, leather shoes, a straw hat decorated with wax flowers.
