Description: This is an extremely top tier French Walnut Louis XVI style dining room sideboard made by Karges Furniture in the early 2000s. It was bought new in 2004 and have been in storage since 2009. This sideboard still retails today for $30,000. Sideboard is in very fine condition with some small dents to edges from storage and the lock is not working on the center drawer. Along with this sideboard, I also have the Chippendale table #862 and the Chippendale dining chairs #4930 & #4935, all from Karges and all from the same estate.
Description taken directly from Karges website:
This impressive buffet shows all the details that set Karges apart. It has a showy display of Grafted and Circassian Walnut veneers with a detailed Holly and black inlay and Karges' iconic checkerboard inlay. The shape is graceful yet strong and is achieved only by hand details and craftsmanship. The posts and feet are hand carved of Walnut. It has a locking single center drawer with a silver pad. The center doors lock as well and it has a single adjustable shelf behind the center doors and each wing. For breakfront see 342.
