Offered for your consideration is this adorable piece of restaurant ware in a Yellow Rooster pattern with Mulberry sponge circles made exclusively for the Josiah Chowning's Tavern in Williamsburg, VA.
Hard to find, and very collectible, this pattern was made by Mayer China, Syracuse China, Homer Laughlin and possibly other famous American makers of restaurant ware. Because of the back stamp, I believe this was made by Mayer.
