This is a 19th Century Firkin / Sugar Bucket. It is made with wood staved pine with a bentwood lap band at the top and metal band at the bottom. The bands are secured with copper tack and one copper staple. It has a wire bail with a wood handle. There is some wear damage present. I think this style of firkin adds to a great primitive look with the mix of wood and metal. This is a very solid bucket with great patina throughout, and tight staves.
It measures: 7.75" top diameter & 8.25" bottom diameter and 8" tall.
