We have here an unusual Swedish silver child's set in its original presentation box.
Such sets turn up regularly in English silver and often in American, but this is the first I've encountered of a Swedish origin.
It is decorated in a modified King's pattern. These sets were favoured christening gifts, although the size of this suggests use by an older child.
The whole service weighs 3.6 oz. The Swedish silver standard is 830, which means simply that 830 parts out of 1000 are pure silver.
The datemark is illustrated on page 385. of Tardy's "Poincons d'Argent"
The fork measures 6.5 " , the knife 7.5" , and the spoon 7.25".
Each piece is monogrammed - " J E D "
The set is in good antique condition excepting a small nick on the fork.
