A pretty conversion necklace made from an original 15-carat gold Victorian bar brooch adorned with a beautifully detailed little swallow in flight.
In Victorian symbolism, swallows are a symbol of enduring love and loyalty, as the swallow mates for life. A flying swallow was also traditionally considered good luck in England.
There is a 15CT mark (worn) on the reverse of the bar.
We have added a fine vintage nine-carat gold chain which secures with a springring clasp.
In lovely antique/vintage condition. The bar is straight when viewed face on (from the front) and slightly curved when viewed from the top (see photos) - whether this is an original feature we are not sure but we just mention it for accuracy's sake!
Length: The chain is 15 inches, with a further 1.25 inches for the central bar.
