This solid gold brooch was handmade for my family in the early 1970s by a top jeweller friend from Hatton Garden, London's premier jewellery district. It's a beautifully made one-off piece, gorgeously detailed and very wearable.
The granulation technique originates from Etruscan times and is a tricky and time-consuming process to master. It is increasingly rare to find such craftsmanship these days.
Marked CJLD and 750 (18-carat gold). Secures with a locking rollover clasp.
In excellent vintage condition.
Size: approx 4.5 x 3cm.
