A very pretty solid silver paste brooch with a central trefoil design of three fiery (real) opal cabochons.
The pastes all appear to be original; they have a subtle gleaming shine rather than a full-on sparkle, which lets the red and green fire of the natural Australian opals stand out to brilliant effect.
Marked 925 on the reverse next to a kind of tulip-shaped symbol which we have not been able to identify.
Fixes with a simple C clasp; the pin sits a little loosely in the clasp but is secure when pinned.
Size: 2.3cm diameter.
In very good antique condition, overall surface wear to the stones.
