For those in the know, chrysoberyl cat's eye is a rare and beautiful thing. Classed in the upper tiers when it comes to value, these gemstones are prized for their striking chatoyancy, or cat's eye effect.
This example displays the desirable milk and honey colouration and the central stripe is clean and well defined.
In very good vintage condition. Crisply hallmarked for Birmingham nine-carat gold from 1970-71 and bearing the maker's mark JH.
Size: M and a half (UK), 6.5 (US).
Stone size: 10 x 7 x 3mm. The band is 3mm wide at the back.
