This is a sumptuous little Victorian pendant which really catches the eye, complete with a fine 15-carat gold Victorian chain. The foxtail tassels are beautifully slinky and with its luminous seed pearls and bright golden curves the whole piece just looks gorgeous on the skin.
The reverse of the pendant conceals a simple glassed compartment containing a scrap of fabric (which looks original) into which you could insert your own photograph or tiny keepsake. The back can be lifted off with a fingernail and presses back in to close, although it does not fit completely flush.
The bow and the golden bridge into which the pearls are set rotate slightly and are firmly secured underneath with a central stud. Note a couple of tiny dints to the circular edge.
The chain is marked 15CT on a yellow gold plaque on the early springring clasp, which is made in rose gold. The pendant itself is unmarked but has been tested as 15-carat gold.
Pendant size: 4.2 x 2.1cm.
Chain length: Just over 15 inches.
Total weight: 9g.
