An extremely fine Belgian bronze medal, of which examples can be found in the collections of The British Museum, Musée Carnavalet in Paris and the Royal Library of Belgium.

The struck bronze plaque is rectangular with cut-off corners and depicts the beautifully drafted head of a young girl above the legend "Mimine".

Marked 1906 and G.Devreese on the front; the Belgian designer Godefroid Devreese (1861-1941) was a master medallist and sculptor who designed several public monuments which can still be seen today in Belgium.

The reverse states "OFFERT PAR G. DEVREESE ET P. FISCH À LEURS CONFRÈRES DE LA SOCIÉTÉ DE LA MÉDAILLE D'ART".
