These are figurine pieces marked, KPM, certainly produced in Japan for export. The mark with a blue crown was not used as a KPM mark. There was no patent on KPM marks, therefore, these newer marks were allowed to be produced. None the less, these figurines are delightful examples of Court Ladies, one holding a mirror, another a bird and covered box, and the third with a tray.
These are hand painted in cobalt blue and gold highlights. They weigh from 6.3 to 6.6 ounces each and are 5 1/2 inches in height. the bases are 2 1/2 by 3 1/4 inch ovals with the Crown Mark over KPM and the number 850. There is a clear glaze covering each figurine.
