This rare beauty is an antique turned-head shoulderhead on a leather body made by Alt, Beck and Gottschalck in the late 1800s. She stands about 17” tall with beautifully painted multi-stroke brows and lashes and an open mouth with 6 upper teeth (5 are visible). She is incised 698 ½ Germany #7. There are no cracks, breaks or repairs.
There are signs of earlier repairs (I didn’t do them), but her leather body is soft and supple and in fairly good condition – No tears or sawdust leaks. Her arms appear to have been repainted at some point, but they still bend at the elbow and she has all her fingers and thumbs.
She is wearing her original blonde mohair wig that is in good condition but a little sparse in the front. Her paperweighted blue glass eyes are fixed - They do not sleep.
She has clearly been redressed, and is screaming out for a new/old outfit!
This item is in very good condition and is free of any breaks, odors, repairs, scratches etc.
