This is a beautiful, one of a kind, antique diamond, ruby, sapphire, pearl bouquet brooch circa 1840-1850. The brooch features 10 rose cut diamonds, a ruby, a sapphire and a pearl set in a 14k gold base with a silver appliqué top in the style of a bouquet of flowers and leaves. This brooch was appraised for $4,600 Canadian dollars in 2017. I have included a photo of the appraisal so you can read the extremely detailed description of this incredible brooch.
The sapphire measures 1.02 carats and the ruby measures 0.43 carats and both have lovely colours and are genuine. The brooch measures 58.4mm by 25.2mm and weighs 7.9 grams. There is a loop for a safety chain, but the chain has lost its way over time. There is a c clasp.
If you desire jewelry that no one else will have or you covet antique jewelry, especially rose cut antique diamonds, genuine ruby and sapphire, you will want to add this brooch to your collection. If only this piece could tell us its history, I am sure it has had a decadent past upon the dress of a wealthy woman of the Victorian era. This brooch will be presented in an antique brooch box and the appraisal will accompany the purchase.
