This is a pair of vintage sterling silver amethyst earrings designed by First Nations artist Richard Shorty. The earrings are called Wolf and feature native designs. Each earring is set with an oval amethyst cabochon. Richard Shorty is a Northwest Coast native artist born in Whitehorse, Yukon who is well known for his art work. In 1985, he began working with Pacific Rim Artists to create a jewelry line. I don’t know how many of each of his earrings were produced, but they are nice quality sterling silver earrings with a lovely design.
Circle measures 5/8 inch in diameter. From the hook to the bottom of the circle, a 1.5 inch drop. Signed Richard Shorty Wolf 925. Posts are 925 sterling, too. Weigh 4.66 grams.
If you enjoy wearing First Nations jewelry, you will be pleased with earrings designed by a highly collectible artist.
