This is a wonderfully detailed large sterling silver souvenir spoon of Detroit. The spoon features fantastic details of the Detroit Harbor and the city on the handle (front and back) and in the bowl of the spoon. The heavy spoon which weighs 22 grams (0.8 oz) measures just under 14 cm (5.5 inches) so it is large for a souvenir spoon. The spoon was made by Paye & Baker Manufacturing Company which was in operation between 1901 to 1960 out of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. The back of the handle of this spoon has pictures of City Hall, the Wayne County Building and the Post Office with the P&B maker's mark and the word "STERLING". The bowl of the spoon is also very detailed with the title "The Heart of Detroit" with buildings and a horse drawn cart on the street. The spoon has been polished to its original shine and is in excellent condition. This spoon is extremely detailed and would make a great addition to any collection of fantastic American souvenir spoons.
