This is a wonderful antique sterling souvenir spoon with a figural handle of a miner. The spoon is signed on the back of the handle "DJ Sterling" with a castle which is the maker's mark for the Dominion Jewelry Mfg.Co from Toronto, Ontario. This company made souvenir spoons and small sterling items between 1900 and 1910. The spoon measures 4.25 inches in length and weighs 13.31 grams (0.46 ounces). The beautifully carved handle features a miner front and back with the words STRUCK IT AT LAST above the bowl. The bowl is engraved New Liskeard amongst scenes of miners working by candlelight. New Liskeard is in Ontario, Canada. This spoon represents a piece of Canadian history. If you collect antique souvenir spoons with beautiful details, this is one that you will want to add to your collection.
