A sweet little sterling demitasse souvenir spoon with 'Clarion PA' engraved in the bowl of the spoon in a unique sculptural slightly raised script. The dainty stem of the spoon tapers into a beautifully detailed 'bouquet' of rose leaves topped by a larger single rose. The back of the spoon is plain with no monogram.
It measures 4 1/8" long and weighs 8 grams. Hallmarked sterling with the makers mark of Wendell Manufacturing Co. who operated in Chicago from 1850 - 1900. The maker's mark is so tiny that it was difficult to photograph but is consists of a 'W' flanked by two figures which appear to be animals of some sort. It is in near perfect condition commensurate with its age with a few micro scratches to the back of the bowl.
A wonderful delicate addition to any collection particularly for someone with links to Pennsylvania!
