Timelessly elegant vintage two strand sterling silver bead necklace with seed shape and round beads strung on a fine link chain with a hook style closure, typical of native american jewelry of this period. It is unsigned/unmarked but all the beads and the clasp acid test for sterling silver. Although difficult to test/access the fine link chain it is probably .800 silver.
This is a really handsome piece which is in excellent condition ~ very well crafted and the double strand make this quite unique in style and add to its impact.
It will make a wonderful accessory for any occasion - to dress up a sharp white shirt and jeans or to add a bit of glimmer in the evening and perhaps more importantly, due to it's simplicity, it would certainly be a stunning alternative to carry a more dramatic native american pendant. Provenance puts this to the mid 20th century.
Total length 19 inches ~ the top (shorter) string is 18 inches which allows it to sit comfortably and beautifully on the neck. There are a total of 37 seed shape beads, about 5/8 inches long and 38 round beads which are 1/4 inch (6mm) diameter. Simple clasp and chain in perfect condition.
Total weight 28 grams.
