These beautiful vintage sterling silver earrings are made in a lovely repousse 'shell' shape with applied beading. Their patina is wonderful, they are wonderfully made and the design is stunning and timeless. One of the pair is stamped Sterling Taxco 925 - under which there seems to be a maker's name which may be J Gomez but it is very hard to see! There is also the stamp 'Sterling' - Made in Mexico. The back of the screw is also stamped with the initials 'R.S.'
They measure about 1 1/4" long and 3/4" 'deep. They weigh a total of 9 grams. The screw backs are in perfect order and presently set so the earrings sit 'sideways' on the earlobe but of course these could be converted to pierced fastening which would allow the earrings to sit vertically if desired. Although they look substantial, they are not heavy and so are very comfortable to wear.
Perfect condition with no dings, dents or anything other than light wear commensurate with their age which must be around the 1950's.
