This simply wonderful 'soft as butter' very fine suede deeply and generously fringed, jacket is truly sumptuous. In a deep shade of dark chocolate brown suede with a darker rayon lining, suede covered front buttons, a collar which can be turned up and two deep front pockets.
Beautifully cut and lightly tailored - the swing and movement is superb! The sleeves are a particularly attractive as the fringe drops down in an elegant crescent to the cuff. Another quality detail of this jacket is that when it is worn open, the fringe goes all the way to the inside front seam and the buttons are covered in the same fine suede.
The thickness of the suede is perfect and generous - no scrimping here or on the length of the fringe which is 6.25 " on the sleeves, chest. pockets and across the back and 4.25" on the hem to keep it from getting in the way.
Hardly worn - no damage, wear or even light soiling whatsoever as is so often seen on suede. Due to lighting it has been difficult to show the true color of this jacket in every photo. The true color is best represented by the third and fifth photo - more 'bittersweet' chocolate than 'milk' chocolate!
This piece is part of the estate of one of the first women to become a director of a major US fashion company who traveled extensively to shows in London, Paris and Italy. As this jacket is unlabeled it may have been acquired as a catwalk sample but the quality of this classic vintage 1970's piece is undoubted. A simply divine article of classic clothing and a joy to put on! Although this is a large size, due to its cut is will not 'swamp' a smaller figure.
Measurements: Shoulder to shoulder 18"; Circumference of Chest 48"; Shoulder to bottom hem 26.5"; Circumference of Hips 50". This would be about a UK size 22 or a US size 18. Please do not hesitate to inquire for more photos or details.
