Fab and rare, this is the Alexander Korda ''Hindu Goddess Shiva'' pin. This pin is a book piece found in the Carla & Roberto Brunialti "A Tribute To America 1935 - 1950" jewelry book on page 169. They date it to the 1940's and say it was made by Rice-Weiner & Co. They call it the "Silver Maid" because the design is reminiscent of the mechanical toy with which Jafar kills the princess's father. The brooch can also be found in the 2007 "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202" (1st edition) book on page 367. The pin is done in silver-tone, and is signed "KORDA THIEF OF BAGHDAD". A wonderful addition for any collector of unique pieces of costume jewelry.
