This is an American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Jug. It has a Sterling Stopper and a Sterling Collar. The Sterling on the Stopper and the Collar is applied thick and heavy and has a solid cork that goes into the Bottle opening. It stands 11 & 1/2" tall including the Sterling Stopper. The Stopper is marked " Sterling" and has the early Trademark of an intertwined "WSW" for the Wilcox Silver Company. They were one of the original companies to become part of the International Silver Co. in 1898. The Sterling Collar that goes down the neck of the Bottle is 3 1/8" in length and has Sterling on the top part of the Bottle opening and down into the inside of the neck. It has a Notched Prism cutting that goes down the Bottle below the Sterling Collar 2", it has a Cane design, with Cross-Cut Diamond designs, Star Bursts and Fan designs at the bottom. It has a big Star Burst Cutting on the bottom that 24 points. The Bottle measures 13" around and the Collar measures 4 1/2" around. More than likely the Company that the did the cutting on this great Cut Glass piece was The Meriden Cut Glass Company. This Cut Glass jug is in great condition, it is very clean on the inside with no staining and has a few very little small tiny nicks.
