This is (4) 1890's - 1900's Sterling Figural Boat Salt Cellars. All the (4) Salt Cellars are marked Sterling. The Cherub / Putti sits high upon the edge of the Salt Cellar Boat with one hand on the Salt and other is extended out in the open air waving or greeting. There are (3) Salt Spoons that are marked Sterling on the back. The Salt cellars are in the shape of a Boat and the Salt Spoons in the shape of a Swan's Head on the handle and has a round bowl and measures 2 1/8" in length. The Salt Cellar measures 1 1/8" across the top in width, 2 3/4" in length, 1" tall, with Cherub 2 3/8" tall, 3" across from the Cherub's foot to the other end that comes to a shape of a spout (like a gravy boat ) and are up on (3) feet. The sides of the Salts are decorated in rococo and floral designs, with a Flower both sides, the front of the Salt has a lattice design. They are in great condition other than some spots inside the Salt Cellars which is typical of leaving Salt in it. They have decorations that are very similar to the designs on European Silver. We have only seen one Salt Cellar that is similar to the salts that we have pictured in our Shop. It was a decorated Sleigh which was being drawn by a Ram or Goat with the Cherub / Putti on the Sleigh and was marked Sterling.
