This is a Pair of Sterling Silver Candlesticks that measure 11 3/4" tall. They have an Oval Shaped Top that measures 3" x 2 3/8" and have an Oval Shaped Rim that measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" . The Candlestick body has an Oval Shape To them as well. They have applied rims around the Top and around the Base of the Candlesticks. This rim around the Top measures 3/8" and measures 1/2". It is marked with " an Eagle, Wings spread out, Sterling, S. Co. " on both candlesticks around the bottom rims. More than likely the Company Mark has another Letter that you just can't make out on both candlesticks. We were unable to identify the company ( Marker Marks ). They are fairly heavy and are " NOT WEIGHTED " and weigh 606 grams ( one weighs 298 grams & the other one weighs 308 grams ) and are hollow at the bottom and are hollow up the inside of the candlestick. They have an engraved design on both sides of the Candlesticks and date from the 1920's. They may possibly have an actual Sterling Silver Pattern that matches the Sterling Flatware. This Pair of Candlesticks is very tall , elegant & wonderful looking, where ever you may place around the house and especially look outstanding on the Dining Room. As they have some substantial age on this pair, around 100 years, they are not absolutely perfect and do have a few little bumps along their journey of being around so long. One of the candlesticks has a very common problem that someone has twisted the candlestick down below the drip shield. This same Candlestick has a little bump on one side and has 2 little bumps on the other side. It has a little bump, hard to see, on the ball below the drip shield. It has 2 places on the very bottom of the rim that is out of skew or is not perfectly oval shaped. The other Candlestick is almost perfectly oval shaped on the bottom and have only one small bump dent that hardly shows up from just looking at them. These candlestick have scratches in various places on the piece, however most are on the top of the base. None of these things show up when presented on the Dining Room Table, small side table, on the mantel and else where in the house. Other Candlesticks that are "weighted", filled with cement and various other elements, the Sterling Silver is so thin that they get dinged up a lot , very easy and then makes it so it really shows up any problems.
