This is an Antique 1900's Sterling Silver Bell by J E Caldwell. ls this your dream, just to ring your Sterling Bell and your Butler or Maid is right there "Yes, Sir and / or Madam? ". This whole Bell is Sterling, the Handle and the Bell Bottom. It has the J.E.Caldwell & Co., a Retailer's mark and they were located in Philadelphia, PA. In 1843, Caldwell had James M. Bennett as a partner and the firm was then known as Caldwell & Bennett. Bennett left the firm in 1848 and the name was changed to J. E. Caldwell & Company, which it remains today. James Caldwell died in 1881 and was succeeded by his son. J. Albert Caldwell, who ran the business until his death in 1914. It measures about 4" Tall and has a 2" Diameter. It sports a very beautiful hand engraved script Monogram that is "K C" on the front part of the Bell Bottom.
