This is an early Gorham Sterling Rounded Over Men's Dresser Box that is Dated 1893. This is a very fine Dresser Box as it is rounded over in shape and measures 2" tall and 3" at the widest point. It is longer across the top than it is on the bottom, it measures 2 3/4" across the top and is 1 3/4" across the Bottom. It measures 9 1/2" around the Lid part and measures 9" around the bottom part and tapers smaller near the bottom edge. It has an elaborately fancy engraved Monogram "E. T. W." that covers almost the whole top with all the scrolls, loops and curves on it. It has a tight, secure fitting Lid. The Lid is marked Sterling 490 / #16. The inside of this Box has a Gold Washed on the Lid and the bottom. On the bottom is engraved in script with " Ewing Thruston Webb". It is dated "Feb 26th '93 ", is marked Item No. 490 / Sterling / and has the early Gorham Trademark that is "a Lion, an Anchor and a G" and the date mark for 1891. It is in very great condition with having only a few very little teeny fleabites dings on the very bottom that are hardly even noticeable, this is only mentioned for accuracy.
