This is a Delightful and Charming Sterling Silver 1890's Footed Cordial w/ little cute Cherubs playing and flocking. In Scene (1) on this cup: These little guys are having a good time of it, playing and fighting among the plants and shrubs in the Garden. One little guy has even broke off a branch from the Shrub and is holding it over the other one, who is lying down on the Grass. In Scene (2) on this Cup: These (2) Little Guys are both standing up on the Grass. They are both wearing material draped around them. ( like Sumo Wrestlers ) And it looks like they are really going after each other, to do some Fighting, Boxing or Wrestling Rounds in the Garden along with the Plants and the shrubs. The handle has a fancy shape and design to it. The rest of the Cordial has no decoration on it and has a pedestal foot. It is marked with the early trademark for "Mauer Manufacturing Company", a Unicorn floating on waves or clouds / Sterling 925/1000 Fine / Item Number 1231C This Cordial stands 3" Tall and measures 1 & 3/8" across the top. Frank Mauer, Silversmith, began the Manufacture of fine silver goods in North Attleboro, Massachusetts in July 1887. In March of the following year, Frank O. Coombs became a partner. He was designer and chaser for the growing concern. They made "Holloware of every description, stationery and toilet novelties and a large variety of miscellaneous articles and sets. In 1890, they were contemplating a move to New York where they planned to increase the capacity of their production. This Cordial is in great condition with no problems.
