This is an Antique German Adorable Bisque Little Sailor Boy Figurine and dates from around the 1890's. He looks like a character out of Huckleberry Finn as he is bare footed and has broken out the stitching in the back of his pants and his shirt is sticking out of his pants. The Little Boy measures 6 3/8" tall and his hands are clutched on to the woven rope basket rope edge that is curled over the woven rope Basket in the back. The Woven Rope Basket is curled over 1 3/8" on the top part. He is leaning right up against the woven rope Basket and his toes are off the ground. He is wearing a cream shirt with overall shorts, a jumper, the collar of his shirt has Gold Beads around it, he is wearing a Straw Woven Hat with a Gold mark on the back of the hat, it was made to look like the Hat was broken at the top rim. There is a Cream Ribbon around the head part and there is (2) Ribbons coming down on the hat and over his shoulders. The sleeves on his shirt have Gold beads around the edge and has an outline of Gold around the Jumper, the waist and the edge of the pants legs. The Jumper is decorated with Hand Painted Peach and Gold colored Little Flowers and Gold Dots on the front and sides of the pants. The Little Boy has a hand painted face with Ash Blonde hair, Eye Brows, Brown Eyes, Pink Coral Lips and Rosy cheeks. The inside of the Woven Rope Basket is a white porcelain and on the bottom is white with Blue markings that look like 6 / 3. It also looks like it is faintly marked with a Crown and a Starburst for the German Company " Schafer and Vader". The Woven Rope basket has a Woven Rope edge design all around it. The opening measurements of the basket is 4" across by 2". It is 2 1/4" tall and is 5 5/8" in total height. It is a very adorable little Bisque boy figurine that is in excellent condition.
