This is a 1900's Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon of "Luverne, Iowa". It is a State Spoon on the handle having a Military Soldier holding an American Flag and a Rifle in the other hand. There is a bail of Hay and a Plow with a Factory in the background and the words around the handle " Our Liberties We Prize & Our Riches We will Maintain". Below this there are Ears of Corn, a Pig's Head, Wheat, the words "Iowa" and another Ear of Corn. The back of the handle is decorated with the American Eagle and the American Flag. In the bowl it is engraved in fancy letters "Luverne Iowa" with a Gold Wash in the bowl. It measures 5 1/4" in length. This spoon is marked with the early Trademark of Paye and baker Company. This is a very nice spoon that is in pristine condition.
