This is a porcelain and bisque Bust of a young scholar reading a scroll. He is wearing an elaborate cream colored Jacket with raised Gold colored beads, along with Star like designs on the sleeves and big wide collar. There is a fancy Bow decorated with Turquoise colored beads on it. He is wearing a Turban styled Hat with Gold and Turquoise colored Beads on it and a Gold button at the top of the hat with a cream colored Feather on the right hand side. He is holding the scroll in his left hand. He has such wonderful detail on his eyes, mouth and ears and hands. His face is much like the Heubach piano babies and dolls. There is very small amounts of wear to the Gold on the button on his hat and the gold outlining his edge of his hat and little wear on the sleeves. There are a few of the gold beads missing on his jacket and a couple of very teeny chips at the bottom in the back of the bust, but is hardly noticeable as is the little gold that is worn in a few places. His is on a marble looking pedestal with three gold lines around the base. He is marked on the back with numbers 1480 1/2 which would be German and would date from around 1900's.
He stands 5" Tall and measures 3 & 3/4" at his widest point. The circular open bas is 2 & 1/4" in diameter.
