This is a very Rare Sterling Silver Dresser Accessory Piece. A Locking Jewelery Hinged Box / Casket that even has the original Key along with it. It has a Wonderful and Beautiful Art Nouveau Blown Out Embossed Designs with climbing, trailing Wild Rose Blooms, Flowers, Leaf shapes, Garland Swags, Cherubs, etc. It has an Embossed Cherub's Head at the top of the Lid with outstretched Wings and Wild Rose Blooms trailing on this Box Lid, with Garland swags around it. There is an Oval Medallion in the middle of the Lid for a Monogram, however, it is not Monogrammed. All around this Oval Medallion, there are fancy Leaf designs. On each corner of this Box, there are Curly Q's wrapped around and joining with Leaves. On either side of the this Medallion, there are (2) blown Out Embossed Naked Baby Cherubs swinging from Garland Flower Rope Swings. Right by their Heads are Butterflies on either side of the Cherubs. On either side of the Cherubs, there is Ribbon Bows with Flower Rosettes holding the Bow together. Under neath the Oval Medallion, there are (2) Embossed Love Birds (Turtle Doves) sitting on Wild Rose Blooms. On the side of this box, it has decoration of (4) Winged Cherubs that are fluttering around in mid-air holding trailing Wild Rose Garland Swags. There are (4) Floral Elaborate Urns on the sides, (4) Cherubs, (4 ) Doves on the sides of this box. There is (1) Urn in between (2) Cherubs on the front and the back sides, and there is (1) Urn on either sides of the ends and right by the (4) Little Cherubs, there is a Dove fluttering by them. It is marked on the bottom, with the early Gorham Trademark of "Lion, an Anchor, "G" and has a Pattern / Item Number of B2821, which dates if from the 1890's to the early 1900's. It measures 5 & 1 2" across by 3 & 1/4" and is about 2" tall. This Box is a substantial piece, weighing in at over 8 Troy ounces! It is in Wonderful condition on the outside as well as the inside, with no problems what so ever. It may have had silk lining on the inside at one time, however, we found no remnants of any material lining remaining.
