This is a wonderful 1880's Victorian Bronze Letter opener and would be fantastic on a Rosewood or Walnut Desk. It is 9 & 7/8" in length and is a heavy casting. The patina is rich and undisturbed ( we don't polish ) , The design is pleasing and the Ladies profile is a nice touch. There are no flaws, no damage, there is a small place on the blade that has a very tiny groove, could be original though, since it is so slight. There is nothing missing and looks pretty straight to me, no bends. It has some very little traces of corrosion in some of recesses / grooves of the handles and hilt. It does have some spots on the plain part of the front and back of the blade. It is really in great condition and has the original bronze / brass patina on it.
