This is a Sterling Silver Baby Rattle in the Rose Solitaire by Towle. This is a piece that would be very hard to find and there are probably not many of them around and not many were produced by Towle. This Pattern Rose Solitaire by Towle was introduced 1954 and was discontinued in1996. It is marked Towle Sterling on the circular Rattle part, the entire Rattle and Handle is Sterling Silver, but is hollow in both pieces. This Sterling Baby Rattle measures 4 & 3/4" in length and the circular Rattle measures 1 & 3/4" in diameter. The Handle has the Pattern Rose Solitaire on it that is decorated with a single Rose Stem. It has a light engraving of " Chrissie " in Script that could be removed by a silversmith. Other than 3 small edge dents on one side of the edge part, this Baby Rattle is in amazing great condition after going through the hands and mouth of a young child.
