Assembled set of flatware for breakfast and lunch.
Breakfast set consists of 6 knives and 6 forks. Knives are marked Viner's Ltd Sheffield Made Super Stainless. Forks have an engraved pattern at their root. Their are NO marks around the collars. Handles are celluloid or faux ivory. Rounded (French blade) knives measure 8" long, forks measure 7" long and are marked on the back EPNS for electroplated nickle silver and then the letter S.
The lunch set is a bit unusual. It also consists of 6 forks and 6 knifes. 4 of the knives match and two do not. The four matching knives are marked H&H EP - for Henry Hobson of Sheffield England who was active from 1886-1930. The forks do not have any marking on their upper sections. The forks and 4 matching knives are then marked on their collars as sterling silver from George Hape. They are fully hallmarked with the crown, lion and a date make of 1901 or 1902. This set also has celluloid handles. Knives measure 8 1/2" long, forks measure 7 1/2" long.
Both sets are contained in one wood box with a silk and velvet lined fitted interior. Box has an inlaid brass medallion on its top and a brass keyhole. Lock does not work - box shows signs of having been broken into at some point.
Box and contents weigh 5 1/2 pounds.
Although it is not a complete, matching set, all pieces go together and compliment each other fairly well.
