Nice engraved English sterling silver snuff box, fully hallmarked for Lincolns Ltd, Birmingham, 1921.
In addition to the hallmarks, the snuffbox is marked on the back with the cursive logo Ben Wade Leeds. Ben Wade was an important maker of pipes, with their most desirable production coming from their years at Leeds. Apparently this snuff box was marketed by the Ben Wade, making it a nice crossover collectible for pipe collectors as well as snuff box or silver collectors.
The box has a lovely scrolling desire engraved in the top, with a circle in the middle reserved inside two concentric lines. There are no initials in the circle.
Very good condition, with one tiny ding in the circle area on the top. Measures 2 1/8" x 1 1/2" x 1/2".
The weight is 45 grams.
