English Historical Staffordshire blue and white cup plate circa 1830.
This cup plate was made by Enoch Wood & Sons in the period 1820 - 1840. The scene, known as Bickley, Kent, depicts Bickley Hall, a wonderful English country manor. In front of the hall there are cows on the lawn and a couple strolling. The composition, with the scene framed by trees, is superlative.
The border is the Enoch Wood & Sons is grapes and leaves border, which was used on their British and French views.
The cup plate is marked with the impressed mark Enoch Wood & Sons Burslem.
Excellent condition. Measures 4 5/8" diameter.
