Lovely pair of English Queen Anne period brass candlesticks circa early 19th Century.
This is a quality pair of candlesticks, notable for the nicely notched bases, the beautifully turned shafts with incised lines and petal designs -- shown in the last photo -- at the upper trumpet shaped turning.
Please note that these both show seam lines, the surest way of differentiating authentic antique candlesticks of this period from reproductions.
7" high, 4 1/4" diameter at the base.
Overall very good condition. One candlestick is excellent, the other has an old tear (not open) in the bobeche and is slightly loose (but stable) where the shaft meets the base. These appear to have pushups which are stuck. I didn't try to unstick them, nor did I polish the candlesticks.
The first two photos look like there is a slight lean to the candlesticks. This is just the camera angle, neither candlestick has any lean.
